Abstract
In this paper we establish the families of general three-point
quadrature formulae, by using the generalization of the weighted
Montgomery identity via Taylor's formula. The results are applied
to prove a number of inequalities which give error estimates for
the general three-point formula and for three-point
Gauss-Chebyshev formulae of the first and of the second kind.
