Numerical resolution of Richards equation by the RBF-MQ method

Abstract

In this paper, the flow equation in unsaturated porous media is numerically integrated using the RBF-MQ method which is a meshless method. The conservative form  which is a pressure-content method was considered. The Richards equation being strongly non-linear, we used Newton-Raphson's iterative method for linearisation. A implicit Euler scheme was used for temporal discretization.
Comparison with exacts solution and experimental cases existing in the literature have shown the effectiveness of the approach.
