Semantic Cache - Optimizing the Semistructured Data Queries

Abstract

The appearance of the XML has raised many problems regarding the effcient
obtaining of information from di.erent XML remote sources trough Internet. A semantic cache
technology can improve the effciency of the XML data querying process in Web environment.
The semantic cache exploits the idea of reusing the query results in order to respond to the
new queries based on some inclusion and rewriting techniques. This paper presents the design
space of the semantic cache systems and proposes a new improved formula for partial cache
replacement strategies.
